Colton Parish is now part of High Furness Neighbourhood Forum, consistent with its membership of the High Furness 'Local Area Partnership Area' boundary.
 

LDNPA Planning Policies Oct 2010:
The old Local Plan and Joint Structure Plan have been superseded by the new Local Development Framework (LDF); the LDF Core Strategy was adopted October 2010.

The following 2 documents cover the LDNPA planning policies as they stand at present:
   - Core Strategy (large document!) (Oct 2010)
   - Saved Local Plan and Joint Structure Plan Policies (Nov 2010)

We have also been provided with the following useful document:
