RUSLAND SHOW SCHEDULE 2008

All exhibits to be entered for show classes under 'Schedule of Exhibits' (see below) must be listed on an Entry Form and sent to
the Secretary, Mr Jon Woddy, Woodview Cottage, Haverthwaite, Nr Ulverston, Cumbria LA12 8AE (Tel: 015395 31928)
by noon on Saturday 9th August.  No entries will be accepted after this time. Please note also the rules for exhibitors.

All sports and other events: races, children's fancy dress and the pet show may be entered on the day.

TOP TRAY COMPETITION (OPEN)
Entry Fee is 20p
Prizes are: 1st Prize - £3.00; 2nd - £2.00; 3rd - £1.00
The Top Tray is for a display of three vegetables from the following eight.
The quantity of each vegetable is given in brackets.
Carrots (3), Cauliflower (2), Onions (3), Parsnips (3), Peas (6), Potatoes (3),Runner Beans (6), Tomatoes (6).

Rules
Individual dishes of vegetables on the tray shall be judged to a maximum of 20 points, split into three, allowing 7 points for freshness, 7 points for condition and 6 points for uniformity. All vegetables are to be displayed for effect. The display shall be within an area of 18 inches x 24 inches, either on a board or on a marked area of the staging. Where a tray has a lip or edge the internal measurement must not exceed 18 inches x 24 inches.A black base cloth is permitted or the tray painted. Parsley garnishing is permitted but nothing else whatsoever. Please enter by putting ‘TT’ in a box on your entry form.

Accessories may be used unless otherwise stated. Fresh or dried plant material may be used.

Classes 130 – 137 to occupy no more than 2’6” x 2’6” base.

130 “Boxing Clever” an arrangement incorporating a box or boxes.

131 “A New Look” a modern exhibit.

132 “Down by the Sea” an arrangement depicting the seashore.

133 “Hot and Spicy” an arrangement using exotic fruit, vegetables and flowers.

134 “Legend” an arrangement depicting a well-known legend.

135 “A Special Day” an arrangement for an important event.

136 “Country Living” a foliage arrangement using a garden utensil. (Novice class for those who have not won a first prize).

137 “Keep it Simple” an arrangement using five flowers with foliage. (Persons under 25 years.)

138 Ladies Spray.

139 A Miniature exhibit not to exceed 4” high by 4” wide.
